What is an Association?
 
A Baptist association is a self-governing fellowship of autonomous churches sharing a common faith and active on mission in their setting.The churches that comprise an associate are free, independent, self-governing, autonomous churches that decided to associate themselves to do certain things together.
What is the Purpose of An Association?
 
 An association is designed to enable churches to be in fellowship and to be on mission indivdually and together.
 

What Associations Do (Tasks)

 

  • Nurture harmony in faith and practice
  • Nurture fellowship among churches, church leaders, and members
  • Call the churches to be on mission
  • Provide resources and services to churches and leaders
  • Train, develop, and encourage church associational workers
  • Provide opportunites for working together in missions, ministry, growth, and evangelism
  • Establish/maintain appropriate communication and relationships in community and denomination
  • Govern the association under the lordship of Christ
  • Plan association's programs and manage its resources
  • Provide information about the churches to the denomination
